How to Lower your Student Aid Index (previously referred to as EFC)

I was listening to a webinar from Yorkshire College Planning and this resource was included. How to Lower your SAI (EFC) Links to an external site. Remember that these are their opinions and that you should always seek more information on any piece of information you receive.  

The term EFC (Estimated Family Contribution) is used throughout and this has been changed to SAI (Student Aid Index).  "The reason for this name change was due in part to the EFC being somewhat misleading, making families think the number generated is what they would have to pay for a particular year of college vs. how much aid their child would be eligible for at the college or university.
